Product detailed description
Triple gastric support with Pectigard Complex®

60% of horses suffer from gastric discomfort, with 40% showing no clinical signs.
Stress, changes in daily routine (transport to competitions, change of stable, etc.), level of exercise and feeding are factors that can increase acidity in the stomach. This can adversely affect the horse's quality of life, digestive function and of course sporting performance. During these critical periods, targeted nutritional support is essential to restore the horse's well-being and allow him to reach his full potential.

Pectigard Complex
New 100% herbal complex
Pectigard Complex® is a patented combination of pectin and lecithin designed to protect the stomach lining. In an acidic environment, the complex precipitates into a gel and forms a protective film that protects the gastric mucosa.

Focus on ingredients
Sea buckthorn berries
An innovative ingredient for the protection of the glandular gastric mucosa.
Sea buckthorn berries contain antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help reduce oxidative stress - one of the main factors that disrupt the natural protective mechanisms of the stomach, especially the glandular mucosa.
Ekygard+ has a comprehensive effect on the horse's stomach, protecting the gastric mucosa, reducing gastric acidity and supporting the intestinal microflora.
With the latest generation ingredients, Pectigard Complex® (pectin-lecithin), magnesium hydroxide, sea buckthorn berries and probiotics, Ekygard+ contains all the ingredients recommended by the ECEIM for the management of gastric discomfort in horses*.
This new formula is also enriched with soothing aloe vera and fenugreek to support appetite.
*European College of Equine Internal Medicine Consensus Statement (2015).
Our recommendation
Ekygard+ can be given long-term or targeted as needed.
Long-term administration is appropriate for horses prone to gastric discomfort, stressed horses stabled in the box and during the racing season.
Targeted administration is appropriate prior to periods of risk such as intense exercise, transport or change of environment.
Packaging
A 2.4 kg dose lasts up to 30 days of use for an adult horse or 2 months for a foal. A 6 kg bottle lasts up to 75 days of use for an adult horse or 150 days for a foal. A 14 kg drum lasts up to 6 months for an adult horse or 1 year for a foal.

Frequently asked questions
How do I know if I should use Ekygard+ on my horse?
Ekygard+ can be used if you suspect your horse is suffering from excessive stomach acidity. This usually manifests itself by the horse not finishing the entire ration or stopping in the middle of feeding pellets, having a fluctuating appetite. He may develop abdominal cramps after feeding. Has difficulty gaining weight and/or has a poor quality coat. Teeth grinding. Yawns frequently. Eats dirt. He is irritable when saddled and puts his ears back. He is sensitive to leg stimuli.
It is not necessary to wait for the acidity of the stomach to become pronounced. Ekygard+ can also be used preventively, even in horses without obvious symptoms.
Do not hesitate to contact your veterinarian who will recommend the most appropriate method of use for your horse.
When to use Ekygard+ for my horse?
Ekygard+ can be used long-term in horses with sensitive stomachs, but also in stressed horses (stabled, during the racing season, etc.) to ensure long-term protection of the stomach.
Ekygard+ can also be used in the short term, for example during periods of risk such as intense exercise, transport or change of environment.
Can I use Ekygard+ during races?
Ekygard+ is part of the ADP program and can therefore be used during competitions without the risk of a positive doping finding in the horse.
How is the legislative accuracy of the product ensured?
Registered complementary feed with ÚKZÚZ.
