    When urinary tract health starts with bladder protection

    Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder, which can have various causes, from bacterial infection to urinary stones to disruption of the protective layer of the bladder or stress. In cats it is often idiopathic cystitis, a condition where stress is a significant trigger and where urinary tract care alone is not sufficient without a broader approach.

    WeCysto® Plus therefore works comprehensively. It supports the protective lining of the bladder, helps to reduce bacterial attachment to the urinary tract, helps to control inflammatory processes and, in the gel form, also contains ingredients aimed at reducing stress. It is this combination that is particularly important in cats where urinary tract problems are often recurrent and are related to the environment, stress, diet, drinking regime and overall sensitivity of the animal.

    The modern approach to cystitis is therefore not one-dimensional. For bacterial infection, veterinary diagnosis and appropriate treatment are essential, whereas for idiopathic cystitis, environmental modification, stress reduction, promotion of water intake, control of inflammation and restoration of the protective bladder layer are essential. WeCysto® Plus fits into this approach as a nutritional support that targets key areas associated with urinary tract health in both dogs and cats.

    Support for stress-related cystitis

    The gel form contains fish protein hydrolysate, L-tryptophan, L-theanine and B vitamins, ingredients aimed at supporting calmer management of stress, a very common factor in feline idiopathic cystitis.

    Two forms according to the needs of the patient

    The gel is particularly suitable where we need broader support including a stress component and ease of administration. Tablets are a practical option for long term urinary tract support, particularly where mucosal protection and reduction of bacterial adherence is the main aim.

    Main components

    Cranberry extract

    Cranberry extract contains proanthocyanidins, which help reduce the attachment of bacteria, especially E. coli, to urinary tract cells. This supports the natural defenses of the urinary tract and helps prevent recurrent infections.

    N-acetylglucosamine and hyaluronic acid

    Hyaluronic acid is an important component of the protective GAG layer of the bladder. N-acetylglucosamine promotes the formation of this layer, which helps protect the mucosa from irritants in the urine, toxins and bacteria.

    Omega-3, EPA and DHA

    Omega-3 fatty acids promote the production of anti-inflammatory eicosanoids and help reduce the production of highly inflammatory mediators. As a result, they contribute to the control of inflammatory processes in the urinary tract.

    Fish protein hydrolysate

    Hydrolyzed marine peptide supports stress management and helps increase GABA levels in the hippocampus and hypothalamus. Stress is one of the key factors in feline idiopathic cystitis.

    L-tryptophan and L-theanine

    L-tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin, and L-theanine supports GABA, serotonin and helps to reduce noradrenaline levels. Together, they support the body's calmer responses to stress and anxiety.

    Vitamins B1, B3 and B6

    B vitamins are important for proper nervous system function and the production of neurotransmitters such as serotonin, GABA, dopamine and noradrenaline. They support overall nervous balance in stress-sensitive animals.

    • Camellia sinensis, natural source of L-theanine, 0.15 mg

    • Vitamin B3, 1.2 mg

    Method of administration:

    WeCysto® Plus gel

    First month

    • 0-4 kg, 1 dose per day
    • over 4 kg, 2 doses per day

    Extended use

    • 0-4 kg, ½ dose per day
    • over 4 kg, 1 dose per day

    One dose corresponds to one squeeze of the pump, i.e. 2 ml. The gel can be mixed with food, given directly into the mouth or applied to the paw where the animal licks it. Shake well before use.
