Chronic kidney disease is particularly common in older dogs and cats and is one of the most important diagnoses in geriatric veterinary care. It is not just the kidneys themselves. Once their function declines over a long period of time, multiple problems can begin to accumulate in the body at once, from hyperphosphatemia and uremia to proteinuria, high blood pressure, metabolic acidosis, inflammation, fibrosis, and even inappetence, fatigue, vomiting, constipation, weight loss, dehydration, or increased thirst.

WeNefro® Advanced therefore does not build on a single ingredient, but on a thoughtful multisupport approach. The goal is to support several key areas simultaneously, phosphorus binding, uremic toxin reduction, intestinal passage support, acidosis control, cardiovascular balance support, inflammatory processes and vitamin supplementation important for renal patients.

The choice of form is also important. Tablets are particularly appropriate where the priority is to address hyperphosphatemia, whereas oral suspension may be appropriate where broader support of inflammatory and fibrotic processes or simpler administration is more important.

Calcium carbonate

Rheum officinale promotes the reduction of phosphorus and uremic toxins, contributes to the control of inflammation and fibrosis, and supports the balance of the gut microbiome.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Omega-3s help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, support cardiovascular health, may contribute to reducing proteinuria and slowing the progression of chronic kidney disease.

Crataegus oxyacantha

Hawthorn supports cardiac function, blood flow and blood pressure control. At the same time, it is associated with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Chitosan

Helps bind phosphorus and uremic toxins, supports the intestinal barrier, and contributes to kidney function and blood pressure control.

Psyllium

Supports intestinal passage, helps with constipation and contributes to intestinal health. It may also help to trap nitrogenous waste products in the intestine.

Sodium bicarbonate

Helps correct metabolic acidosis, protect muscle, bone and protein metabolism and is part of the support for the progression of chronic kidney disease.

Vitamins B6, B9 and B12

Vitamin B6 supports protein metabolism and the nervous system. Vitamin B9 is important for red blood cell formation, DNA synthesis and vascular health. Vitamin B12 supports energy, appetite, gut health and red blood cell production.

Spokojen, chutná a účinek tam asi bude, jelikož se neměl dožít týden. Dávám spolu s ProNefra již přes dva roky.
