Pregnancy and lactation significantly increase the nutritional requirements of the mare in relation to the development of the unborn foal and consequently to the level of production and composition of the milk. It is therefore essential to ensure a sufficient supply of minerals, vitamins and trace elements. The key is to supply these nutrients in adequate quantities while avoiding excess.
